The joy of collecting is a pillar of the Wildcard vision, and Wildcard Swag (a collection of unique collectibles from The Wildcard Alliance) is a way for us to celebrate, showcase, and share in that joy together with you, Wild Ones. We recently launched the Wildfile, a soul-bound player ID (yes, it’s technically an NFT), and have lots of fun plans in store for Swag that integrates with the Wildfile! To ensure a seamless user experience, we are migrating Swag to a custom contract from the default OpenSea contract that will allow us to deliver lots of fun features to you in the future. This will better integrate Swag into Wildfile and, eventually, into our Web3 game mode, for an improved user experience overall.

The migration process involves these steps:

1. The Wildcard Alliance will deploy a new Swag smart contract on the Polygon blockchain.

2. A snapshot will be taken of the current Swag to capture each item and its owner. 

3. Immediately after the snapshot, The Wildcard Alliance will issue Swag on the new contract to owners of old Openstore Swag.

4. This whole process will take up to 24 hours - but don’t worry, we’ll be sure to give you a heads up before it happens, when it’s happening, and before the process ends!

The old Openstore Swag collection will no longer be supported by The Wildcard Alliance in Wildcard products (Wildfile, Web3 mode of core game, etc.). Users can buy/sell/transfer items in the old collection, but they won't have utility or be displayed by The Wildcard Alliance.

Yes! The reissued Swag on the new contract will have updated visuals and evolved metadata.

These changes are to support a new upcoming feature: Swag sets! These sets will be themed collections of Swag that will be issued to you, Wild Ones, as you engage with fun Wildcard opportunities and happenings as we build and launch our game!

Users will continue to own the old Swag, but only the reissued Swag on the new contract will be supported in the Wildcard ecosystem. Old Swag will remain tradable but will not be integrated into our ecosystem. All Swag will still appear as one collection in marketplaces.
